Fall Rec Soccer at Harbor Island Park
formerly Mamaroneck Junior Soccer League (MJSL)
Fall Rec Soccer at the Harbor is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten to 8th grade (6th grade and above register with Larchmont Rec Soccer). The program’s aim is to develop individual soccer skills, teamwork, a positive attitude towards athletics and good sportsmanship. In addition to Saturday games, the U8 and U10 Divisions have mid-week training sessions that are similar to our travel program. For all divisions, we want kids to learn, to run around, and most of all, to have fun!
Games are played each Saturday from September 10 through November 5. Midweek training sessions for Minors and Intermediates are from September 12 through November 3.
Schedules for the 2022 season will be posted shortly

DIVISIONS:
Each division is allotted a one hour time slot for their session. Therefore, each division’s game ends at a predetermined time regardless of when they started the game. The time slots are the same throughout the season. The K-1 session starts with a practice and ends with a small-sided, 4v4 or 5v5 soccer game. For the first half of the Minors’ season, professional trainers will provide training for the first half hour, with second half hour being a game. The second half of the season will consist of games only.
For the Minors (second half of the season only), Intermediates, and Majors each game consists of two 25 minute periods, with substitutions occurring midway through each half and at half time to ensure that minimum playing rules are met.
For the competitive divisions, play is either 7v7 or 8v8, consistent with US Soccer U10 guidelines. The field and goal sizes have been adapted to the players on the field to ensure the participation of as many players as possible.
Coaches
The coaches are the main point of contact for each team. Each team is assigned 1-2 coaches, depending upon the number of volunteers who sign up. For the K-1 and minors divisions, professional trainers are assigned to work with each team each week, A coaches meeting is held before the start of the season where coaches are provided with information about the season, the league's player development philosophy and some training and practice ideas.
